Hold the phone.... It turns out the terms of the Paul Kariya contract were incorrect. The contract was actually for 2 years at $4.5 million per year. When I heard the initial numbers, I was thinking it was too good to be true. It was.
This went from a "tremendous" deal to a "good" deal. I still think this is going to work out nicely for the Preds. It is, though, a LOT of money to spend on a guy whose health is in question. If it turns out that the injury problems are still lingering, there'll be a lot of second guessing, but for now I think Nashville fans should be thrilled with this.
